“I think our music is timeless, actually,” Wagner says, defending the notion that they’re pure musical nostalgists. “It’s based on a lot of musical icons from American musical history, but is very much a product of the present. We use old sounds, borrow from Buddy Holly or Phil Spector, but we use electronic instruments, and record our albums on computer. We’re not recreating the past, but marrying old elements with new.”

Footage from the Raveonette’s performance at legendary club CBGB (which now is apparently at clothing store…WTF!) in New York. I contacted someone about getting the full show but for now here is “That Great Love Sound.”

Ignore the annoying lady at the beginning.

I posted The Raveonettes set from Maxwells on 3.11.2007 (thanks sebastian!) a couple of days ago.

They band played Maxwells again on 4.23.2008. youtube user supmag recorded a lot of the show (from what I can tell).
